Heating Bills Climbing Due To Broken Damper
If you are noticing a huge rise in your utility bills and own a fire place then you may need to have your chimney damper looked at. This happened to us not to long ago. We were paying out the nose in heating bills and the house didn’t even feel warm. It’s like the furnace was always running and could not keep up. We finally had someone come and assess the whole situation. He first looked at our fireplace and asked us if we use it. We don’t, so we never thought to look there. It was then he discovered that our damper needed to be replaced. We did it, and noticed the difference right away.
